Olive oil to help with ear wax and ache?

my doctor suggested i drop a few drops of olive oil into my severely waxed up ear.


i've been having ear ache and ache all on the left side of cheek and jaw for the past 3 days. Doctor says she can't see the problem because of the wax.





any idea how long it will take for the olive oil will help rid my ear of wax?

If you've been poking away trying to dig out the wax it's possible you've scratched the ear, or scraped away too much wax (it's a necessary protective coating), and allowed a mild infection to set in. It's not easy, but try not to scratch at it with anything. Let the olive oil do the work.





Seems daft - I had to use earplugs overnight a few years ago. A wonderful side-effect was that the wax stuck to them and came out a treat!Olive oil to help with ear wax and ache?
warm up the olive oil slightly in the microwave, and then dip a cotton bud into the oil and gently put it into your ear.. my parents taught me this when i was younger and it does seem to help slightly..





if that doesn't work maybe ask the doctor to irrigate your ear? i had that done once ages ago and seemed to help...





i have a really bad earache too =(
it is better if you warm it a bit first after you can even use a cotton to massag it even at the back of your ear aswell it will help i used to do it.
Mineral oil is good. Did he give you t-3 as well?


if no you may/can ask for t-1 over the counter at the drug store.
