Is rubbing olive oil on your face does any good for problems like pimples or scars?

Yes, because it is like a super-moisturizer. A lot of people think that moisture is bad for acne-prone skin, but it's actually the opposite. The problem with many acne cleansers and treatments is that they can be drying, and the dryness will cause your glands to secrete more oils to make up for the lack of moisture. Exfoliating too much can also put stress on your skin, cause tiny lacerations that can get infected and inflamed (and then it becomes something that looks like a pimple).

Olive oil won't do very much for scars. For those, you can try other natural remedies like Vitamin E oil (I heard it's best to cut open a Vitamin E gelcap and use the oil from that), Rosehip oil, cocoa butter, or garlic. Always make sure you wear sunscreen, because sun exposure can make your scars darker. Is rubbing olive oil on your face does any good for problems like pimples or scars?
olive oil helps with inflammation and anti-bacterial qualities ,So it could help with pimples I use olive oil on my face and have not had an issue with more pimples.Olive oil can help with wrinkles also does not clog your pores like vegetable oil and some others types.

Look in herbal remedies in any search engine for some ideas about herbs to mix with olive oil. Hope this helpsIs rubbing olive oil on your face does any good for problems like pimples or scars?
No. Olive Oil will be trapped in the skin making pimples even worse and doing nothing for scars. Pimples are easily treated with exfoliants which pull dirt/oil out of the skin and help your skin breathe...scars can be treated with lotions/balms that will lighten them (which happens with age anyway) and make them less noticeable.
Jim Carrey the comedian uses toothpaste on his face at night and in the morning they are gone.

For scars take vitamin A and rub on Vitamin E topically

When I'm making pancakes can I substitute canola oil with vegetable oil or olive oil?

I don't think I have any vegetable oil.....and I can't go to the store right now soooooooWhen I'm making pancakes can I substitute canola oil with vegetable oil or olive oil?
YES! I use veg. oil in mine. And may I say they are delicious everytime. SO, go to the store, and get some veg. oil. Yummy, what time is breakfast? When I'm making pancakes can I substitute canola oil with vegetable oil or olive oil?
yes you can, but the olive oil will flavor the pancakes. I like the flavor but some people don't like it on their sweet stuff. You can also use melted butter and that gives a really rich taste. Most people like that flavor on their pancakes.
Olive oil may make pancakes taste funky. I just use PAM, or melted butter really makes them taste good. Canola oil would certainly work, and wouldn't flavor the pancakes, either.
You can for cooking purposes but they have different tastes. Personally i would prefer vegetable oil over olive oil for this.
Sure you can. Olive oil tends to be heavier, so maybe add a tsp of sugar to off set the oil flavor.
Yes you can but I prefer to use melted butter or margarine instead of oil. I think it has more flavor.
Melt some butter or shortening, use veggie oil but not olive oil, it's too heavy.
Yes, you can use any of those oils.

Is olive oil really good for your face?

does it work?

i would think it would give someone more acne but who knows...

i heard its great though....Is olive oil really good for your face?
well it must do something good as Marilyn monroe used to use it, read under ';her ritual'; :http://www.miss-vintage.com/marilyn/beau鈥?/a>Is olive oil really good for your face?
the romans used this in days gone by for removing impurities from the skin following a sauna, not sure that it will be that good for your skin, the heat opens the pores and as such will allows the oils in and may cause spots etc, but its damn good for cooking.
Popeye liked olive oil on his face
i heard or read that olive oil is a great moisturize but i have never used it
i wouldn't try it..all that grease/oil on your face..eeeurgh!
I don't put it on my face, but I try to make most of the fat I eat in my diet from olive oil and nuts. Recent studies show this is healthier than a low fat diet.
Bobbie Brown (make-up artist to celebrities %26amp; cosmetic creator) says when she couldn't find a moisturizer she was going to use olive oil on her face, but she created her own line of cosmetics and she uses her moisturizer. So, if she'd use it on her face I'd say it would be safe to use on yours. But, I wouldn't use it on mine because I don't like the smell (I like things that smell good) and besides my skin isn't that dry. I don't really think it's harmful and I don't think it the kind of oil that clogs pores and causes acne. No all oils clog pores there are some oils that can be used and won't cause acne. Good luck. 2D

There are more effective substances for the face like egg yolk, honey, cucumber, chamomile.

Olive oil is superb for the hair.
No, not as an ointment. It is however great as a cleanser/ very mild scrub.
Not sure if it would be good on your face - might make it greasy.

A friend of mine swore by it to prevent stretch marks, rubbing it on while wet after a shower and sure enough she hasn't got any!
hi my mother in law swears by it, her son had bad skin when he was younger and she used it every day and his skin is perfect now. apply at night and clean in morning. also goo d for hair.

Is Olive oil good or bad for you?

is it good for you if for example you spinkle it on a salad or use it to fry something..Is Olive oil good or bad for you?
Olive oil is good for you but you want virgin or extra virgin as normal olive oils contains the remnants from the earlier press and usually contain more chemicals.

A bit of olive oil and balsamic vinegar makes a good healthy salad dressing much better for you than standard bottled ranch or honey mustard.

You want to be careful cooking with it however as most oils break down at high temperature increasing your consumption of ';bad fats'; its better to cook with stuff like sesame oil (its more stable at higher temps) and add olive oil at the end to flavour. Is Olive oil good or bad for you?
yeah, get a pinch of olive oil and slightly sprinkle it on your food and it will make your philosophical gland tighten and improve in taste.
everything in moderation
no its not bad, i drizzle it on salad all the time and everyone says its healthy!
Popeye seems to think it's good.
Good for you.
good 4 u.heart healthy omega 3 oil.look up' olive oil health benefits'; on the web.
yea evoo is good.

Will olive oil turn my hair brassy?

my hair is bleach blonde but dead, and i heard that olive oil is goood for it, and i just want to know if olive oil will turn my hair brassy or change the color of it !?

THanks !Will olive oil turn my hair brassy?
No.

Oil is good for your hair. (I like Monoi, Olive, Almond, Jojoba oils, coconut too).

Most products have filler (propelyene glycol, and crap) or parabens, or sulfates which are bad for you.

Honey is very good for your hair too, heat some up in a microwave and mix it with your favorite conditioner. (if you don't heat it, it can lighen your hair)Will olive oil turn my hair brassy?
I doubt it.. but why dont you use a regular treament that is actually for your hair this way you wont have to worry about the effects there are plenty of deep conditionion treaments and reconstructors out there. go to a beauty supply and ask which one would be best for your hair type
no! it conditions it verrrryyy well! i do this all the time. or, buy a deep conditioner such as aussie 3 min. miracle.
olive oil saved my har...i love it and it keeps it not TOO shiny and soft.

I want to take a couple of Tbs a day of olive oil for good health. Do you think it would cause weight gain?

Absolutely not if your overall calories do not exceed how much your body is burning. Say you burn 2000 cals doing what you do throughout the day. If you eat 500-800 cals over that you'll gain weight.

Muscle or fat? Depending on if you weight lift regularly and eat a good diet rich in proteins, veggies and fruits.

Olive oil is AWESOME. I can't even begin to tell you how healthy it is for your body. Best if drizzled on foods around dinner or lunch time or any time you feel like getting some good fats in.

I cook with pure olive oil and I use the extra virgin or light tasting olivel oil drizzled on foods or put it a cup with whey protein powder for something quick.

So in the end olive oil does not cause fat gain unless you EAT more calories then you burn! This is no matter if you eat clean or junk it's all the same.I want to take a couple of Tbs a day of olive oil for good health. Do you think it would cause weight gain?
Depends on your diet, of course. In reality, 2tsp is better for you, anyhow. If you have a balanced diet, it can be a good thing.I want to take a couple of Tbs a day of olive oil for good health. Do you think it would cause weight gain?
no it won't.. but you should just put it along with one of your meals for dinner instead
